Outside of this dream, you can’t tell me you love me and I understand why. Outside of this dream, you won’t tell me you love me because you won’t tell me that lie. Surely I cry, as I have in moments past when I long for you; but the tears race for my pillows and hide in their cloth. We see ourselves as the victim who's been done the wrong way

As when I walked away leaving your heart shattered on the floor

You forgave (in a way) un-forgetting asking me to return for amore

I kept on coming back I kept on hurting you

You kept cutting me slack despite how I treated you

If you need that closure, if you need my honesty

I'll tell you the truth is I always felt guilty…

It's like...it's like seeing someone for the first time that you're passing on the street &...& you look at each other for a few seconds & there's this kind of...umm... a sort of recognition yet, you turn a way for a brief moment.

It's like you both know something but then in a split second the moment you look up again the person's gone.  Feels like it's too late to do anything about it.

Still, you always remember it... you always remember it because it was there.  It was right in front of you but you let it go & you think to yourself "what if I had stopped & what if I had said something... what if... what if...?"  "What if?"

It may only happen 3 times in your life.  Or it may only happen once.  Would that also fall under the category of stolen moments...our hopes robbed of their happiness by a reluctance to take a chance on that thing that happens; that thing that doesn't always make any sense?

Soft & caressing to my senses

It is the a cappella of my heart beat,

My heart’s weak…listening to you speak

Is like a lovers first kiss, sweet

Your eyes, while they may be enchanting

It is your voice which sends a ripple through my soul,

Your voice makes love to this heart you stole

I could go blind without losing sight

Following your voice like stars in the night,

Sailing towards the shores of your ocean

On the waves of your emotion, in flight

Gliding on the breeze of your smile

The ninth cloud is your laugh, in which I cuddle;

Yet, I may only splash in your voice, as my puddle

What once seemed impossible

Inhibitions fade to black… you arch your back

Wandering along your inner thighs

I find my way down & begin kissing behind your knees,

My patience emerges from emotions which flow

Expressed in each touch as tender affection,

Your lips mouth three words

Others have said it & I let it go unheard

But for you, I allow my soul to undress…

I commence my cosseting of your exquisiteness

Each kiss, each lick is adulation…I must confess;

I crave every part of you without hesitation

Each breath, each touch is more than infatuation… this I profess

Losing myself in the scent of your essence

Drawn to the umbra of beautiful you,

I taste the sweetness of your fountain of youth

Inexperienced in the manner which I am touching you

Your fingers linger through my hair

Caressing in nature approving each suckle,

You bask in the pleasure

There’s a man, dishonest

There’s a man, untrue,

This man said, “I Love”

But he didn’t say it to you

You who picked him as yours

Without having to choose,

He who walked through another man’s doors

While wearing another man’s shoes

Cutting what could’ve been untied,

He lied, you cried- we tried, the love dried;

Take a deep breath-hold it, death

Pronounced on the last hour, our love died

Counting down hours, minutes

& seconds on the ticking clock,

Wait, times about to stop

Reverse it backwards & leaves you in shock

Flock together as birds of a feather

So hard to stay real the appeal of fake leather,

Pleather is plastic-blasted with fake shine

Need to be true to mine regardless of the weather

Whether or not you feel my tears

I will make the song cry,

& face my hearts’ fears

Being man enough to look into my own eye

Unrecognized when looking into mirrors

Broken…followed by a curse for seven years,

God doesn’t even recognize me

The Devil revels in laughter following jeers

Here’s to what once was

Here’s to what will never be,

I didn’t cross the line

Yet I know I will never truly be me

Sin doesn’t have to be committed to be guilty

Sand is still a grain from the Earth,

The moment he turns his hand, the dirt turns filthy

Can’t hide behind the line of being a sinner at birth

What’s my worth if I muddy my waters?

What does that make you if I pull you in?

Need to think about our moms & daughters

A man needs to be more than a heartless tin

Because even if I win, I lose…that’s it

No un-breaking of her heart,

Can’t be forgiven for pulling that $h!t

There is no forgiving for playing that part

Trying to be a player…thinking a man could play her

She’d know it all along, I’d be wrong; she’d be waiting for her day to;

Let my sorry @$$ go, dropped as a failure

Thinking she won’t make it but she will find her way through

& what will I be when I realize I’m mistaken

Left shattered & alone, living a nightmare…My confidence shaken,

I’ll be dialing her drunk, lying on my trunk

Telling her I want her back, too late, she’s already been taken

Raking leaves when autumn has passed

I thought I laughed loudest…but she laughed last,

Starving for her perfection…in which I once basked

Alone without a meal, lying to others about a time to fast

In a blink, time flies, & all I see is the past

My eyes are empty, so I wear a mask;

Lonely is my world and the silence is vast

Recovery alone… is a daunting task

Haunted by what I want

While you flaunt what I need,

Taunted by a kiss I never had

My heart remains gaunt, no love to feed

Having eaten the last apple in the Garden of Eden

A weed withered the roses, now beauty is a ghost;

A pirate without a soul on the seven seas

Unable to relish the flavor once savored the most

A host to heart-break…loneliness is no stranger

Misery loves my company, a thoughtless manger;

I try to change songs like a dj, the record changer

Should have seen the obvious…like a clear & present danger

Instead of placing a bet on an unlikely wager

I should’ve thought about you first,

Loving you with a better commitment

Instead I made the mistake of loving you worst

Thirst can’t be quenched in my sleep

So, from this nightmare I awaken,

I remember the fear in cold sweats

& a truth from its message I have taken

Taking into account that she doesn’t love me

Waking from the “sermon on the mount” what is above me,

I need to return to who I was before I met her

I need to avoid what is uncharacteristic of me

I had my space established

For all the wrong reasons,

The only way to be close

For a song of all seasons

Treason, I'm a traitor of the worst kind

Had to take a step back and see without being blind,

Looking at myself and realizing I can't search

For a feeling I am not destined to find

Not because I don’t love her

Lord knows this depth is deeper than me,

But when it is all said & done

What will my own mother think of thee?

Because there is a man dishonest

He is untrue and not willing to understand,

But if I am going to tell you “I Love You”

Then I cannot be that man.
